_Breaking News: APC Cracks Down on Internal Dissent - Lokpobiri, Lyon, and Others Suspended_

In a shocking move, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State has suspended several high-ranking party officials, including Minister of State for Petroleum, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and 2019 gubernatorial candidate, David Lyon. The suspensions, confirmed by APC leader in Ekeremor Local Government Area, Mitin Eniekenemi, were made due to alleged anti-party activities and accusations of dividing the party at the state level.

According to Eniekenemi, the decision was made following recommendations from an internal disciplinary committee established under Article 21.3(1) of the APC Constitution. This move is seen as a strategic effort to address internal conflicts and maintain party cohesion.

Among those suspended are Engr. Karin Kumoko, Commissioner for Power; Barr. Peres Biewari, Commissioner for Lands and Survey; Mr. Jothan Amos, former APC state chairman; Godbless Diriwari, ex-officio member of the National Executive Council; Sabi Morgan, Southern Ijaw APC Youth Leader; Omiebi Fuoebi, APC Chairman, Ward 3 Southern Ijaw; and Claudius Odobu, APC Chairman, Ward 4 Southern Ijaw.

The suspended members are accused of harming the party's interests, particularly during the 2020 Bayelsa State bye-election. Their alleged actions are said to have undermined the party's unity and compromised its chances of success.

Eniekenemi explained that the suspensions were necessary to address the internal strife and ensure the party's progress. He emphasized that the APC would not tolerate any actions that jeopardize its cohesion and effectiveness.

The APC leadership has stated that investigations are ongoing, and further information on other members involved in anti-party activities will be disclosed once the investigations are completed. This development highlights the internal conflicts within the APC and the party's efforts to address dissent and maintain cohesion.

Party members have expressed mixed reactions to the suspensions. Some have welcomed the move as a necessary step to maintain party discipline, while others have expressed concern over the potential consequences of the suspensions on the party's unity and future prospects.

The suspensions have sparked speculation about the future of the APC in Bayelsa State and its implications for the party's national standing. As the APC navigates these internal challenges, its ability to address dissent and maintain unity will be crucial in determining its success in upcoming elections.

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
