A viral video captured the shocking incident, showing Ikwechegh, representing Aba North & South Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), engaging in a heated argument with Abuwatseya over payment.

The situation escalated when Ikwechegh slapped the driver, who remained remarkably composed despite the assault. "Are you slapping me, sir?" Abuwatseya asked, to which Ikwechegh responded, "I just did, slap me back. How dare you?"

Ikwechegh's aggressive behavior continued, threatening Abuwatseya with further physical harm. "Do you slap me thrice, sir?" Abuwatseya asked, and Ikwechegh retorted, "Twice, you will soon receive the third one."

When alerted that the episode was being recorded, Ikwechegh brazenly identified himself, saying, "My name is Honourable Alexander Mascot Ikwechegh, I am a member of the House of Reps, tell them. Call the Inspector General of Police, let him come."

The video sparked spirited outrage across social media platforms, with many Nigerians demanding justice for the assaulted driver.
