In a significant move to enhance Nigeria's education sector, Chief Uche Nnaji, the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, commissioned a block of fully furnished classrooms and staff offices at Premier Primary School in Udi, Enugu State, today, Friday, November 1, 2024. This project, initiated by the National Building Research Institute (NBRI), was attracted to the community by Honourable Ugochukwu Agballah, the Enugu State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The newly commissioned classrooms are equipped with modern facilities to provide a conducive learning environment for students. The project also includes staff offices, ensuring that teachers have the necessary resources to deliver quality education. This development is expected to have a positive impact on the community, providing opportunities for students to thrive academically.

As the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji has been instrumental in promoting the development and deployment of science and technology to drive Nigeria's economic growth. His efforts are aligned with President Bola Tinubu's policy document, which aims to create one million new jobs in the ICT sector.

Uche Nnaji's background in the healthcare sector, specializing in the importation and procurement of healthcare equipment and technologies, has equipped him with the expertise to drive innovation in various sectors. His experience as a senator representing Enugu East senatorial zone and his service as a board member of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) have also prepared him for this role.

The Udi people were overjoyed during the commissioning ceremony, with the traditional ruler of Udi, Igwe John, expressing appreciation to the Minister and Honourable Agballah. "This is a dream come true for our children," exclaimed Mrs. Nwankwo, a parent whose child attends the school. "We are grateful to Honourable Ugochukwu Agballah for attracting this project to our community." Mr. Okechukwu, a teacher at the school, also praised the development, saying, "The new classrooms will provide a conducive learning environment for our students. We thank the Minister for his efforts in improving education in our state."

The community erupted in cheers and applause as the Minister unveiled the new facilities, a testament to the federal government's commitment to improving education infrastructure. The commissioning ceremony featured cultural performances, including traditional dances and music, showcasing the rich heritage of the Igbo people.

This development is expected to have a positive impact on the community, providing opportunities for students to thrive academically. As Nigeria continues to prioritize education and innovation, initiatives like this will play a crucial role in shaping the country's future.
