_Mystery Deepens: Abuja Community Uncovers 12 Corpses of Suspected Bandits_

Residents of Tokulo community in Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), were thrown into a state of panic and fear following the gruesome discovery of 12 bodies believed to be those of bandits on Tuesday morning. The community, still reeling from previous attacks, is demanding answers.

Jerry Alkali, the councillor representing Igu Ward in the area, confirmed the incident, stating that the corpses were still present as of Tuesday. Authorities have been notified, but no official explanation has been provided for the presence of the corpses.

A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that none of the victims were from the community, suggesting that the deceased may have been hired or brought in before being shot by security personnel. This raises more questions than answers, leaving the community searching for truth.

Tokulo, the hometown of the current chairman of the Bwari Area Council, has been plagued by bandit attacks. In June, terrorists launched a renewed attack on the Bwari Area Council, resulting in the reported kidnapping of over four individuals and the death of another in the Guto area. Similarly, suspected bandits invaded Tasha 2 in Deidei, a satellite town in Abuja, injuring residents.

The latest discovery adds to the growing concern over insecurity in the area. In September, a similar incident occurred in the Kawu community, where five bodies suspected to be bandits were discovered. The recurring incidents have left residents on edge, questioning the effectiveness of security measures.

An official from the FCT Special Anti-kidnapping Unit confirmed the recent incident but refused to provide further details on how it unfolded. Attempts to reach SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, for comment were unsuccessful.

As the investigation unfolds, residents are left to wonder about the circumstances surrounding the mysterious corpses and the ongoing insecurity in the area. The community's demand for answers and justice remains unmet, fueling fears of further attacks.

The FCT Administration and security agencies face mounting pressure to address the escalating insecurity in the region. Residents urge authorities to provide transparency and accountability in their investigations and operations.

The discovery of the 12 corpses serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for improved security measures and collaborative efforts between authorities and communities to combat banditry and terrorism in the FCT.
