NDIGBO ON HIGH ALERT: Ohanaeze Youth Council Bans "Akpakara Nomadic" Criminal Elements from Igboland

In a bold move to safeguard the security and well-being of the Igbo people, the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has issued a stern warning and subsequent ban on "Akpakara Nomadic" agents from entering Igboland. This decision comes after disturbing reports of kidnapping, rape, robbery, and organ harvesting linked to these itinerant groups.

According to Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, National President of OYC, intelligence gathered by the council's Special Intelligence Directorate (SID) reveals that individuals posing as "Akpakara Nomadic" business operators are engaging in illicit activities while roaming through communities, villages, and farmlands in Alaigbo. These criminal elements disguise themselves as waste material collectors, using this guise to gather intelligence, kidnap, rape, and rob unsuspecting residents.

The Ohanaeze Youth Council has discovered that 98% of individuals involved in this lifestyle do not hail from Igbo backgrounds and frequently reside in temporary accommodations, remote areas, and incomplete buildings. Their activities have extensively mapped out Igbo land, exceeding the familiarity of indigenous residents. They scour villages, communities, and streets for waste iron and plastic materials, often hiding guns and weapons of attack under the guise of collecting waste.

Recent incidents have highlighted the brutality of these criminal elements. In Mbaise and Emekuku, an elderly widow and a young man were gruesomely murdered while attempting to thwart a criminal who had stolen cooking pots and other iron materials from a backyard. Additionally, aluminum roofing materials have been stolen from buildings in Aba Branch, Ehime Mbano, and other rural areas.

The OYC urges Traditional Rulers, Town Union Presidents, and Community Youth Leaders to proactively safeguard their communities by resisting and discouraging the presence of "Akpakara Nomadic" agents. A seven-day deadline has been issued for these individuals to cease operations in Alaigbo or face severe repercussions.

To ensure genuine business transactions, prospective buyers of waste materials must rent a shop, operate from premises, and receive suppliers bringing products for purchase. Anyone seen roaming or wandering in Igbo villages, communities, or streets will be perceived as a common criminal.

The OYC calls on all Igbo people to unite against these criminal elements, emphasizing that "Ndigbo Ka Anyi wepunu Aka Enwe na Ofe Tupu O wuo Aka Mmadu" (We must reject, resist, and stop them now). The council reaffirms its commitment to protecting the lives and properties of Ndigbo.

Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, National President of OYC, and Comrade Ifeanyichukwu Cedric Nweke, Secretary General, signed off on the directive, which was dated October 31, 2024. Copies of the statement have been sent to all President Generals in Igboland, all Traditional Rulers in Igboland, and all Community Youth Leaders in Igboland, emphasizing the urgency of collective action against the "Akpakara Nomadic" threat.
