Nigerian Army Launches Investigation into Viral Video Showing Soldier Brutality

The Nigerian Army has initiated an investigation into a disturbing viral video depicting the brutalization of a Nigerian citizen by soldiers. The footage, circulating on social media, shows an altercation between a man, a woman, a senior army officer, and two soldiers in Abuja.

According to Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Army's attention was drawn to the video, prompting Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, to order an immediate investigation.

"The circumstances leading to this incident are unclear," Nwachukwu stated. "However, we assure the public that due diligence will be applied to reach a logical conclusion."

The Nigerian Army reaffirms its commitment to serving and protecting all law-abiding Nigerians, as enshrined in the Constitution. The investigation aims to unravel the truth surrounding the altercation.
