Ritual Killing Shocks Anambra Community: 16-Year-Old Girl's Brutal Murder Sparks Outrage


A gruesome and devastating incident has shaken the Umueje/Omasi Community in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State, leaving residents reeling in horror. 16-year-old Miss Chinasa Adigwe's lifeless body was discovered in a stream in the bush in Omasi Community on October 6, 2024, with her private parts removed in a suspected ritual killing.


The Anambra State Police Command, in collaboration with local vigilantes and Umueje youths, has launched a thorough investigation into the heinous crime. Preliminary findings reveal that Miss Adigwe was last seen in the company of Nonso Ubah from Aguleri, who is now the prime suspect.


According to eyewitnesses, Miss Adigwe and Nonso Ubah were transported to Omasi on an okada belonging to Menkiti Edwin around 11 pm on October 5, 2024. The okada rider confirmed dropping the pair at Omasi and leaving.


Key suspects in the investigation include:


1. Nonso Ubah (Prime Suspect) - Currently at large

2. Menkiti Edwin (Okada Rider) - Arrested and cooperating

3. Parents of Nonso Ubah - Father in police custody


The Umueje/Omasi Community is outraged, demanding justice for Miss Adigwe's brutal murder. Residents have taken to the streets, protesting the senseless killing and calling for swift action from authorities. "We will not rest until justice is served," said a community leader.
