In a devastating incident, Okezie Chikezie Mba, popularly known as Igboja, a renowned Ogene musician, was shot dead by a Nigerian policeman attached to the anti-cult unit of the Enugu State Police Command. This heartbreaking event occurred barely two weeks after another tragic shooting incident involving policemen on stop-and-search operations, which claimed the life of Smith Odinaka along the Enugu-Port-Harcourt Expressway 

The recent incident took place on Friday at the Tactical Squad's Headquarters, where Igboja was performing. Eyewitnesses described the incident as an "accidental discharge." A video shared by Naija Trend on social media platforms showed the lifeless body of the deceased in a pool of blood.

The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the incident and arrested the police officer involved. Commissioner of Police Kanayo Uzuegbu has assured that the officer and anyone else found culpable will face disciplinary actions and sanctions. Uzuegbu described the incident as "unacceptable" and urged those connected to the victim to remain calm and cooperate with the police to ensure justice is served.
